Our company was incorporated in 1990 and as a result of a merger in February 2008 was renamed SWL Rope, Lifting & Testing Ltd. We have since acquired another business Lloyds Beal Site Services Ltd which is 220 years old, and formed another company Lloyds Ship Safety Services Ltd. We are one of the largest independent companies of our type in the UK. SWL are Lloyds accredited to ISO 9001:2008

SWL offer hire and sales of a full range of Lifting, Rigging, Chandlery, Manual Handling and Height safety equipment. We repair and test hydraulic equipment, overhead travelling cranes and we offer Destructive and NDT testing. We can provide statutory LOLER Examinations, PUWER Inspections at site with our team of 18 LEEA qualified engineers. We design, manufacture and install height safety systems and overhead crane and gantry systems. We are approved by Bureau Veritas to inspect and renew ships LSA equipment. We can test upto 700t on site and upto 100t in-house for both compression and tensile testing.

We have 4 depots based across the South of England and can provide national coverage if required. Most depot’s have a large range of equipment for rental or sale  with minimal lead times and assurance of quality
