Cynalytica has developed a sensor (SerialGuard) & enterprise-scale software machine learning analytics platform (AnalytICS Engine) that provide fully passive, fail-safe monitoring and analysis of serial communications in Industrial Control Systems (ICS/SCADA). This provides a first-time capability that securely provides visibility and situational awareness to high-risk, high-impact cyber-physical assets (Nuclear Power, Defense Systems and Facilities, Energy Systems and Water/Wastewater Treatment).

Non-IP based ICS communications, such as serial and other physical layer communications, still make up a significant amount of ICS communications in critical infrastructure (Defense, Public and Private Assets). These communications are historically unencrypted, unauthenticated, and unprotected and are ignored by the majority of ICS cyber security and physical operations monitoring vendors, leaving operators with a significant security capabilities gap.
