This week marks the blast off of the UK Youth Rocketry Challenge (UKYRoC) with regional finals being held all over the country!
The competition requires teams to build a rocket that has a clear take off, achieves the highest possible altitude and lands its crew – two eggs – safely on the ground without cracking it.
The UK has world-leading aerospace and space industries and the Rocketry Challenge has been a great way for 11-18 year olds to learn more about maths and science and discover exciting future career opportunities.
We wish all the teams competing in the regional finals, this week and next, the best of luck and look forward to seeing who gets through to compete against the USA and France at the international final at the Farnborough International Airshow in July!!
