This week is National Apprenticeships Week 2023 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The week-long celebration of apprenticeships brings together employers, local authorities, colleges and educational providers.
For our members in Scotland, Scottish Apprenticeship Week takes place 6 to 10 March.
This year’s theme is ‘Skills for Life’, and the week will reflect on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career and help businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with skills for the future.
Across the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, our members offer high value, high-skilled, and well-paid apprenticeships in record numbers. Across the sectors there are 19,250 apprentices, representing around 5 per cent of our overall workforce.
Throughout the week, ADS will be showcasing and celebrating our sectors for their commitment to apprenticeships, and telling some of the stories of the talented apprentices across our sectors.
In addition, ADS has published ten recommendations to address the skills and workforce shortages our members are currently facing.
Follow our content on Twitter, on LinkedIn, and here on the ADS website. In addition, please contact our ADS Media Team and with details of your own activity during the week.
