  • Aerodays2015 will showcase the best of research and innovation within aviation from across Europe

For the first time ever, the UK is to host the prestigious Aerodays2015 Conference which brings together experts, industry leaders and policy makers from around the world to London for a three-day event that will look at the future of flight.

Aerodays2015 is the European Commission’s flagship event and is the only event of its kind to bring together the very latest in research and innovation in aeronautics and air transport. The conference will showcase pioneering technological and industrial developments from across the aerospace sector providing a high-level, future-oriented perspective.

With only 1,000 places available, attendees are advised to book early as the UK’s reputation for aeronautical innovation will serve as a major attraction for international delegates. Early bird tickets are available until Friday 14 August.

The Conference will consist of technical workshops, plenary sessions, keynote speakers, networking events and the option to partake in national technical visits. Bringing together some of Europe’s most innovative and inspiring leaders, Aerodays2015 will endeavour to shape what the short and long-term future of the sector will be.

Speakers so far include: newly-appointed Warren East, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce; Tom Enders, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Group; Johan-Dietrich Wörner, DG elect for the European Space Agency; Monika Hohlmeier, Chair of the Sky and Space Intergroup, European Parliament and Tony Tyler the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Central to the event will be Europe’s Vision for Aviation, ‘Flightpath 2050’. The European Commission’s initiative – which was launched during Aerodays 2011 - focuses on improving five key areas within the aviation sector: efficient and seamless mobility; competitiveness of industry; greening of aviation; safety & security; and skills for breakthroughs.

ADS Group is the leading trade organisation for UK aerospace sector and will be hosting the event on behalf of the European Commission, who through their framework programme for research and innovation, has co-funded much of the technology on show at the event.

Paul Everitt, chief executive, ADS Group commented:

“Aerodays2015 is a fantastic opportunity to discuss the issues, technologies and innovations shaping the future of aviation and the global aerospace industry.

“Hosting Aerodays2015 reflects the leading role the UK aerospace industry plays in driving innovation, new technology and productivity. The event will capture the interest and imagination of researchers, engineers and officials from across Europe and the wider aviation community.”
