Data released today by aerospace trade body ADS Group shows that 132 new aircraft were delivered in November, marking the third highest monthly total on record. The growth in production rates coincides with rising in demand for new aircraft; the backlog has reached a new high of 13,234 on order, up six per cent on last year.
Paul Everitt, Chief Executive at ADS Group commented: “November was another good month for the UK aerospace industry with 132 new aircraft delivered, up by 12 per cent on the same month a year earlier.
“The strong order book translates into long-term high-skill, high value employment across the country. UK Government support for industrial strategies is encouraging investment in skills, R&D and productivity, helping UK companies to compete successfully in tough international markets.”
In total, the 1,265 new aircraft delivered by industry in 2015 is worth up to £21.5bn to the UK aerospace industry.
