The Singapore Airshow has taken place this week in Changi. One of the biggest and most successful in the region, this show is a key opportunity for companies aiming to access the strategically important pan-Asian market.

The last edition in 2014 saw $32bn worth of deals made over the six-day event; this year has seen presence from 22 countries, 274 delegations and 65 of the top 100 aerospace companies.

Speaking about the show, Paul Everitt, Chief Executive of ADS said: “The ADS UK Pavilion hosted a strong contingent of UK companies and saw strong interest from the many delegations visiting this increasingly important show.”

Among the deals announced was an order for six A350-900s, with UK content totalling around 15 per cent, from Philippine Airlines. The Airline also selected Rolls-Royce to deliver its Trent XWB engines and TotalCare® long term services for the Airbus aircraft.

Three dedicated zones featured within the exhibition site: Aerospace Emerging Technologies; Business Aviation Zone, and the Training and Simulation Zone.

The Singapore Airshow comes just five months ahead of this year’s Farnborough International Airshow. Thousands of international visitors, exhibitors and customers are expected, with more national pavilions than ever and the largest ever presence from China.

Says Paul Everitt: “It is a truly global event and a valuable shop window for the UK to demonstrate the strength of our companies as well as the scale of talent and ingenuity concentrated here.

“More UK SMEs exhibit at Farnborough than any other international exhibition and they generate real business opportunities.”

The last edition in 2014 saw $204bn in deals as well as more than 1,500 exhibitors from nearly 40 countries.
