Today the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has published a report on the Modernising Defence Programme and Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson updated Parliament on its conclusions.

The report sets out how the MOD will build on its existing plans and policies to maintain the UK's competitive advantage, and a vision for further modernisation.

ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:

“We welcome today’s statement by the Defence Secretary, which sets out priorities to equip the UK with the modern defence capabilities needed to combat fast evolving global threats.

“Industry has appreciated the opportunity to engage with the Ministry of Defence and contribute to key elements of this important programme. Industry is committed to a long-term partnership with the Ministry of Defence to enhance the ability of our armed forces to safeguard national security and maximise the contribution of the defence sector to the UK’s prosperity.”
