  • Production rates up 5 per cent on 2014 levels
  •  £19bn of value for UK industry from aircraft deliveries so far in 2015

Data released today from aerospace trade organisation, ADS Group, shows aircraft orders for October have jumped by 92 per cent compared with the same month in 2014.

To meet this rising demand, aircraft production rates continue to grow having risen by 40 per cent over the past five years. This year has seen 1,133 aircraft delivered worth £19bn to the industry, and a healthy order book of 13,000 aircraft represents nine years work-in-hand.

Chief Executive of ADS Group, Paul Everitt, commented: “The UK aerospace industry is a global success story and a major contributor to our economy. October was another strong month for orders and deliveries. The strong support from UK Government for aerospace R&D is helping secure high value, long-term jobs in the UK and ensuring we maintain our global competitiveness.

“The work of the Aerospace Growth Partnership is encouraging investment in skills, R&D and productivity to help keep the UK ahead of its competitors and deliver benefits to companies across the sector.”
