Today’s No Deal Readiness report published by the Government details the state of preparation for No Deal in areas including the relationship between the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), chemicals, and security and law enforcement.
ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:
“No Deal is the worst outcome for industry, threatening damage to our international competitiveness by increasing the costs of trade, introducing border delays and complex new bureaucratic requirements.
“If there is No Deal, the CAA will take up substantial responsibilities from EASA in aviation safety regulation and Government must urgently make available the resources they will need to perform this vital role.
“The Government’s priority must be on securing a good deal with the EU, which for our sectors includes continued participation in pan-European regulatory arrangements.
“We are looking to the Government to be clearer on their ambitions for regulatory alignment and offer reassurance to businesses in our sectors over the future."
