Following the announcement by Bombardier Aviation of restructuring at its Belfast site affecting 400 roles, ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:
“Businesses in the whole of the UK aerospace industry are now facing difficult decisions affecting their workforces. This is an unsettling time for workers and their families.
“Bombardier’s Belfast operation is a successful business that has strong growth prospects, including for the A220 programme, once demand returns to the global aerospace market in the months and years ahead.
“Government support including the Job Retention Scheme has helped to limit the impact of this crisis and we need further sector specific support to be implemented urgently to ensure we safeguard the capability and capacity needed to take advantage of growth once it returns.”
