Following publication of the UK approach to a future economic relationship with the European Union, ADS Director of Policy Syma Cullasy said:
“The UK aerospace industry generates more than £34bn in exports every year and sustains tens of thousands of high value, highly skilled jobs in every part of the country. Our future economic relationship with the EU and our global partners must offer manufacturers pragmatic arrangements that protect competitiveness and support future growth.
“We are disappointed that both the UK Government and the EU are not seeking a more ambitious approach to aviation safety. We are keen to understand the full details of their intentions and will continue to work with them on the UK’s future regulatory approach.
“Businesses will need time to prepare for new arrangements, allowing industry and regulators to minimise disruption, delays and new costs of trading with our biggest international partners and customers.”
