ADS Reaction to the Modernising Defence Programme
The UK’s defence industry was ready to play its part in delivering the Defence Secretary’s goals for the Modernising Defence Programme, ADS said following today’s announcement.
ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:
“The UK defence industry welcomes the Defence Secretary’s commitment to improving the Ministry of Defence’s performance on commercial and industrial issues.
“We look forward to seeing more detail as the new Modernising Defence Programme develops and are ready to play our part in delivering the military capability, value for money and prosperity he seeks.
“The announcement last month of a refreshed Defence Industrial Policy made positive steps and it is important that the Government builds on this to strengthen the important long-term partnership between Government and industry.
“The UK defence industry offers both world-class capability and ever-improving productivity, while providing 140,000 jobs in communities right across the country.
“Industry stands ready to work with the Government to make sure it can deliver better value to taxpayers and give our Armed Forces access to the best in cutting edge technology that enhances our nation’s security.”
