ADS VP Space, Andrew Stanniland said:
“I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as ADS VP for Space. ADS Members operating in the UK’s flourishing Space sector play a critical role in supporting the Government’s Levelling Up Agenda, Science Superpower visions and long term vision for the UK to be a key player in the global space sector which is projected to grow an estimated £490 billion by 2030.
“It is a very exciting time for the UK space sector as the national strategies we have seen published over the past year enter their important implementation phases and I am confident that my experience across the sector and passion for space in UK, will help me rise to the challenge.
“I look forward to working alongside the ADS Board and Members as well as colleagues in UKspace to ensure a united industry voice is presented to key stakeholders across Government. I hope to meet as many ADS space members as I can in the coming months, starting at Farnborough International Airshow in the coming weeks.”
ADS Chief Executive, Kevin Craven said:
“Andrew Stanniland brings more than 25 years’ experience of the UK space sector, strong leadership and a wealth of knowledge to the role of ADS VP Space.
“The UK Space sector is taking huge leaps and bounds forward, alongside the launch and implementation of Government strategies.
“The first satellite launch from the UK is taking place this summer as Prometheus-2 takes off from the Spaceport Cornwall and also the SaxaVord spaceport in Scotland aims to host the first vertical orbital launch from the UK later this year. I look forward to working with Andrew to support our members and working with the Space Agency as well as UKspace during these important milestones for UK space.”
