Measurement for Recovery is a non-competitive programme which provides UK companies with access to world-leading measurement scientists, engineers and specialist techniques only available at NPL and National Measurement Laboratory partners*. There are up to 20 days support available from their technical experts free of charge.
M4R is helping to drive recovery, support growth, develop new products and deliver the confidence required for investment for companies across the UK.
What is M4R?
M4R is led by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and seeks to help solve analysis or measurement issues that cannot be resolved using standard technologies and techniques. By pairing companies with world-leading experts and facilities, to address problems in innovative ways.

M4R allows successful applicants to access up to 20 days worth of advice and facilities to solve business challenges, examples of which include:
- Support for the development of new products and services
- Investigate new concepts and help validate new products and processes
- Identifying opportunities for cost reduction or improved productivity
- Increased product reliability and mitigation of in-service costs
- Advice on standards and regulatory needs.
