Hi I’m Ieuan Trigger. I am the Head of Defence Commercial at ADS joining back in mid-April and it has been a whirlwind ever since. I am a commercial specialist, having spent my career in contracting and procurement both in the Public and Private Sectors, latterly as a Procurement Director. My role is to work with members on how the Defence sector contracts for its requirements, bringing industry together to ensure common commercial issues are co-ordinated.

One of my key areas of focus is supporting the Defence Single Source Advisory Group (DSAG) championing our members who engage with the Single Source Regulations from the MOD, as well as influencing and challenging the legislation.

To date DSAG has engaged with the MOD and the Single Source Regulatory Office (SSRO) on the new and upcoming legislation, as well as running training sessions.

I play a leading role for ADS members in the Commercial workstream of the MOD Defence Suppliers Forum. Ensuring that ADS members commercial interests are championed, whether that be within the New Procurement Act, and how ADS members need to prepare, through DEFCON and DEFSTAN and Single Source commercial changes or how to improve MOD early market engagement with industry, to ensure the wealth of creativity and innovation from ADS members is visible and contracted by the MOD.

I have been delighted to champion the ADS Social Value 101 guide. This was successfully launched in May and gives a comprehensive view of how to prepare for and engage on social value before, during and after the procurement process. I look forward to supporting how industry can enhance the UK social capital.

ADS members are at the heart of securing UK advantage, and ensuring the right commercial models and procurements, will enable ADS members to thrive both in the UK and beyond, though exports and engagement on OCCAR programmes etc.

On a personal note, I am married and live in London, and I have 2 nearly grown-up kids. I spend my spare time watching cricket, especially at the Oval, socialising, enjoying good food and company and promising myself I will get fit one day!
