The company has passed the accreditations for AS9100D and AS9120B across all of its sites including Tallassee in Alabama, US, which has successfully completed its first required recertification since its opening 18 months ago.
Matt Archer, Chief Commercial and Compliance Officer of Velocity Composites, said: “The continued certification reinforces our commitment to continually improve our processes and technology to strive for zero defects and sustain an exceptional service for our customers.
“All of our sites are designed to achieve the same high, consistent levels of compliance with specific industry quality approvals which our customers have come to expect.”
Based in Burnley, UK, with sites also at Fareham, Hampshire and Tallassee, Alabama, in the US, Velocity Composites is a supplier of composite material kits to aerospace and other high-performance manufacturers that reduce costs and improve sustainability. Customers include Airbus, Boeing, Safran and GKN.
The AS9100D accreditation is the most recent standard for organisations that develop or provide aviation, space and defence products and services, including parts, components and assemblies.
AS9120B is the aerospace industry-specific standard for distributors. This includes companies that resell, use a warehouse or distribute parts for aircraft manufacturers.
Velocity Composites manufactures advanced carbon fibre and ancillary material kits for use in the aerospace and associated industries. The company uses its process knowledge and proprietary software to manage the end-to-end raw material supply chain, reduce the amount of material required by its customers and reduce the associated material waste when making aircraft parts.
