UK Government announces hand luggage restrictions
The UK Governemnt has announced additional airline security measures on some routes travelling to the UK, with phones, laptops and tablets larger than 16.0cm x 9.3cm x 1.5cm not being allowed in the cabin on flights to the UK from Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Tunisia.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has calculated that this ban will impact about 393 scheduled passenger flights per week, equivalent to about 2.7 % of the total international scheduled passenger flights to the UK.
The US Government made a similar announcement earlier today regarding flights to the United States.
