TT Electronics today announced that they have been awarded a contract to support the UK MoDÂ’s Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) programme, with the joint award from Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL) and Rheinmetall Landsysteme (RLS) seeing the TT Electronics Abercynon and Cardiff facilities work together to provide complex high-reliability power electronics assemblies to the Boxer vehicles, produced in RBSL Telford.

The contract, worth over £5million, is centred around the development of two types of primary power assemblies to be provided to RBSL over the next 10 years.
TT Electronics will lead the design, production and delivery of the battery control units enabling increased efficiency of the vehicle power management system, as well as the command display units providing signalling and communications functionality on every Boxer vehicle. This award demonstrates evidence of the MIV programme’s initiative to work with and support UK suppliers. Furthermore, the supply chain in place to provide materials to TT Electronics for this programme is also exclusively UK-based.
“TT has a long-standing history of supporting the UK Defence industry and in particular military land vehicles. Our team therefore have a real appreciation for just how important it is to maintain the highest possible standards for critical programmes like this. This latest contract with Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land and Rheinmetall Landsysteme represents an exciting opportunity for us to demonstrate what TT does best.” said Ken Kelly, General Manager, TT Electronics, Abercynon facility.
“We are immensely proud to have secured our spot within the MIV supply chain. Supporting our Armed Forces with innovative technology solutions is something we’re extremely passionate about. Playing our role in modernising their capability is exactly the type of challenge that we thrive on. This award concludes months of hard work by our dedicated Abercynon and Cardiff teams and we’re now looking ahead to the next steps, eager to support this programme with the best service, value and products.” said Ben Sutton, VP/GM, TT Electronics, Power Solutions.
