West London based manufacturer of professional microwave and RF products, TMD Technologies Limited (TMD), will be presenting its new line of PTX8807 Ka band TWT (Travelling Wave Tube) based MPMs (Microwave Power Modules) for high performance EW and radar systems for the first time at EW Europe, Olympia, London, 6-8 June 2017.

Also on show will be TMD’s solid state PTS6900 and TWT based PTXM Series MPMs.

These advanced products underline TMD’s reputation and expertise in EW/ECM and radar, where the company has supplied products for airborne, ground based and naval platforms.

Stuart Love, TMD’s Senior Sales Manager, UK and Europe said: “We are very pleased to be back at EW Europe again – this time on our own turf, in London. Organised under the auspices of the high status Association of Old Crows, it allows us to participate in one of the most focused events in the industry – where we will have an ideal platform to show our latest products to the world’s defence and security community and where, in the light of current and emerging threats, the future of EW and ECM operations in the free world will be explored to the full.”

“Furthermore”, said Steve Humphries, TMD’s Territory Manager, Europe and Africa. “the hugely popular Networking Evening unites exhibitors, delegates, visitors and VIPs in a social environment and allows us to make important contacts with people that we perhaps would not see during the busy working exhibition day.”

TMD’s new line of TWT based MPMs is exemplified by the PTX8807 (above). Operating in the technically challenging 30-40 GHz Ka band, this 200 W output MPM addresses the solution to providing effective counter measures against operating systems emerging in Ka frequency range – such as missile threats.

The PTX8807 is easily integrated into EW and radar systems, and comprises a high power helix TWT and switched mode power supply to form a single drop-in unit without the need for potentially unreliable high voltage connections. It requires minimum cooling, operates over a wide temperature range, at high altitude and in high humidity, and is easily incorporated into a variety of airborne platforms.

The MPM also features remote operation and status monitoring.

TMD Technologies Ltd designs and manufactures specialised transmitters, amplifiers, microwave power modules (MPMs), high voltage power supplies and microwave tubes for radar, EW and communications applications. The multiple Queen’s Award winning company also produces a range of advanced instrumentation microwave amplifiers for EMC testing, scientific and medical applications.
