timNexus presented with Queen's Award
Brighton software specialist timNexus has been presented with the Queen's Award for Innovation by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex. The team at tlmNexus, who were named as recipients of the Queen’s Award for Innovation in Her Majesty’s Birthday Honours list in April this year, were presented with their accolade by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, in a ceremony held at their Preston Road headquarters on Wednesday 10th
October 2018.
The entire company of more than 70 staff ‘downed tools’ to be part of the celebratory event, along with the Lord Lieutenant Peter Field, Mayor of Brighton & Hove Councillor Dee Simpson, Chief Constable of Sussex Police Giles York, and Deputy Lord Lieutenant Geoffrey Bush. Mr. Bush read out the formal message from The Queen, which was written on a scroll accompanying the handsome glass trophy.
tlmNexus was recognised by Her Majesty for its development of a range of innovative defence-focused software services, on which the Lord Lieutenant commented, “You are a leading-edge company playing a key role in serving not only the military of this country, but also the social fabric of our community here in East Sussex. It is not easy to win a Queen’s Award; only three or four are conferred in our County each year.”
David Appleton, co-founder and Director at tlmNexus who received the award on behalf of the company, said, “Winning a Queen’s Award is down to a real team effort; some of the people in this room have been with us since the very beginning, over ten years ago. None of us realised then, the impact that our work would have on the British military, and we are really proud to be part of it.
