TAG Farnborough Airport sees 8.2% growth in September
TAG Farnborough Airport has recently seen a significant growth in air traffic movements (ATM) with a year-on-year increase of 5.6% in 2017 to date and a record 8.2% for September.
TAG Farnborough Airport currently handles approximately 25,000 flights per annum with approval to increase this number to 50,000 by 2019, and is equipped to cater for a wide range of aircraft types including Boeing Business Jets and Airbus Corporate Jets. Many of these aircraft operate to and from the US, Asia and the Middle East. Often carrying larger groups of passengers, the airport’s new terminal facilities are well equipped to comfortably accommodate these customers.
As the only dedicated business aviation airport in the UK, it is specifically designed to offer a one-stop shop for business aviation operators and with 240,000 sq ft of heated hangar facilities and 1.2m sq ft of ramp space can accommodate both based and transient aircraft.
New Smart motorway provides improved journey times to and from London’s business aviation gateway
Following three years’ construction work, the new four-lane M3 Smart motorway has recently opened in the South East of England, bringing an immediate benefit to clients of TAG Farnborough Airport and substantially enhancing one of the key trunk roads linking the airport to both central London and the surrounding areas. Commenting on this improved access, TAG Farnborough Airport CEO Brandon O’Reilly said: “The opening of the new M3 Smart motorway is great news for the airport’s clients who will benefit from improved journey times.”
TAG Farnborough Airport has once again earned top honours in the annual Aviation International News (AIN) International FBO Survey for 2017, coming first in the ‘Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific’ category. For the 12th year in a row, the airport was also named ‘Best European FBO’ in the 2017 Pro Pilot PRASE Survey. “These fantastic results are a tribute to the dedication of all our employees at Farnborough,” said Brandon O’Reilly, CEO TAG Farnborough Airport. “Following the recent investment to upgrade our terminal facilities, our focus continues to be on delivering the highest standard of service for customers and crew.”
TAG Farnborough Airport continues to invest in delivering a first-class airport experience, state-of-the-art facilities and bespoke services at its terminal building. In addition to a quiet lounge and ‘snooze’ room for crew equipped with flat beds and a zero-gravity ergonomic chair, the airport has also introduced an exclusive complimentary crew gymnasium equipped with treadmills, cross trainers, exercise bikes, weight machines, amongst others, as well as dedicated shower rooms both in the gym and in the adjacent main terminal building.
Recognising how important it is for pets to travel with their owners safely and efficiently, TAG Farnborough Airport has recently appointed Liz Shickle, a qualified vet with 30 years’ experience as a Veterinary Officer in the UK Government Veterinary Services, as the airport’s very first on-site dedicated Pet Travel Scheme Support Officer. The Pet Travel Scheme allows pet dogs, cats and ferrets to travel around the world and enter the UK without quarantine as long as they comply with the regulations.
