Specialist education to empower Indian defence
Cranfield University will meet with the Indian Government, industry leaders, business partners, prospective students and alumni at Aero India this week.

The UK institution is the only university with a stand at Asia’s premier aerospace exhibition, which is held in Yelahanka, Bengaluru and is in its 11th year.
The rapidly growing Indian economy, coupled with the fast pace of technological change and the growth of the defence industry in India, has underlined the growing need for specialist higher education.
In Cranfield’s view, there is a unique opportunity for the Indian defence industry, in collaboration with academia, to address the demand and shape the curriculum for the next generation of scientists and engineers enabling students to be industry-ready in a globally competitive market.
The University’s Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor, Sir Peter Gregson, and Simon Harwood, Director of Defence and Security, will both visit Aero India this week.
Cranfield operates in 50 countries and is the postgraduate academic provider to the UK Ministry of Defence.
During Aero India, Cranfield will be signing a series of agreements with academic institutions, industry and state government. These will vary according to institution from collaborative research projects to funding students to study.
Cranfield University is one of the world’s largest providers of defence and security postgraduate education, research and consultancy. For over 70 years, Cranfield - the largest UK university for aerospace, engineering and technology postgraduates which offers the only specialist MBA in Defence in Europe - has educated Indian students both from Government and industry.
