Neil Garwood, Managing Director of Southampton Airport, said: “I am excited to see very strong passenger numbers, which shows commitment of our passengers to use their local airport. We’ve had an incredible year at Southampton Airport and are confidently looking forward as we shape our future.

2018 saw the introduction of the airport’s first ever Greek route to Skiathos with Fly Lolo as well as the return of the popular route to Geneva with easyJet.
The airport has also recently published its draft Master Plan which details the development of the airport over the next 20 years, offering even more choice for its passengers.

This year the airport is looking forward to welcoming back Fly LoLo, with seven new routes to Greece, Spain, Montenegro, Croatia and Bulgaria. The airport will also offer more choice to passengers with routes to Alicante, Faro and Malaga as part of Flybe’s increased summer schedule.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has confirmed an extension of its 2019 Summer schedule from Southampton Airport with the addition of a Tuesday flight to its popular Palma de Mallorca service, meaning it will operate four flights a week (Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun) with effect from 31st March 2019.    In addition, it will operate an enhanced schedule to Amsterdam offering customers the choice of four flights a day, Monday through Friday and three flights a day at weekends.

Roy Kinnear, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer comments: “Our 2019 Summer programme to and from Southampton offers a really comprehensive range of travel options. We look forward to welcoming more passengers on board our extra weekday flight to Palma.

Neil Garwood, Managing Director at Southampton Airport, added: “The additional flights to Palma are great news for passengers who want more choice when planning their summer holidays. We are very pleased with Flybe’s decision to add more slots to our exciting summer schedule and are looking forward to welcoming even more passengers taking the opportunity to visit this stunning Mediterranean city.”
