ISO 27001 is an internationally recognised and respected methodology for the implementation, management and maintenance of information security within a company. Becoming ISO 27001 certified demonstrates conformity of Information Security Management System (ISMS) with the documented standards, and provides customers with assurance regarding system security.
Matt Clark, Smiths Detection Vice President Technology said: “Data breaches are becoming increasingly common in an ever-connected world, therefore establishing a certified and consistent compliance system across our development and production sites is a necessary step for Smiths Detection and our customers. This certification represents our commitment to implementing best practices and maintaining confidentiality, integrity and privacy when handling customer data.”
Smiths Detection has gained ISO 27001 certification at other major European sites including Hemel Hempstead in the UK and Hamburg and Wiesbaden in Germany. Following the obligatory annual review, Wiesbaden was recently recertified.
Compliance is continuing to be rolled out across all the Company’s international production facilities.
