RUSI lecture by Chief of the General Staff to address increasing security threats
A lecture being given at RUSI in Whitehall today by General Sir Nicholas Carter, Chief of the General Staff - Dynamic Security Threats and the British Army - is expected to call for greater investment to counter the increasing threat to security posed by Russian and Chinese military and cyber warfare capabilities. In this one-off lecture General Sir Nicholas Carter, Chief of the General Staff, will elaborate on some of the increasingly real threats that pose a risk to the UK’s way of life as described by Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach in his annual Chief of the Defence Staff lecture to RUSI last December.
He will consider the implications of the evolving threats to the role of the British Army in assuring national security as part of the Joint Force.
General Sir Nicholas Carter KCB CBE DSO ADC Gen is Chief of the General Staff. The professional head of the Army with responsibility for developing and generating military capability from an integrated Army of Regulars and Reservists, he is also responsible for maintaining the fighting effectiveness, efficiency and morale of the Service.
