RAFA Kidz nursery officially opened at RAF College Cranwell
RAFA Kidz Cranwell, the stations nursery, has been officially opened by Mrs Kate Wigston, the wife of the Chief of the Air Staff.

Local children mark the official opening of RAFA Kidz Cranwell, with Kate Wigston, wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, Nick Bunting, Secretary General of the RAF Association and Wing Commander Phil Mann.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Wigston said: “Having been part of the RAF family for many years, I am aware how important a facility such as RAFA Kidz is and will be for years to come. It has been an absolute pleasure to officially open the RAFA Kidz nursery at RAF College Cranwell and to see the impact a facility such as this has on the military community.”
RAF Association Secretary General, Nick Bunting, said: “Access to childcare for serving RAF families is a key welfare concern. RAFA Kidz is able to offer excellent value for money to those families and civilians because it focuses on providing the best possible service to the RAF family, not on commercial profit. It is a pleasure to welcome the employees and children here at Cranwell to the RAFA Kidz family.”
RAFA Kidz is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Air Forces Association, the charity that supports the RAF family. It delivers fun, affordable and nurturing early years childcare in a welcoming environment, on RAF stations.
Group Captain Bettington, Deputy Commandant, RAF College Cranwell said: “We are delighted to have RAFA Kidz on board to facilitate the running of our nursery and to provide sustainability into the future for the RAF family. The nursery provides a superb facility for our personnel and their children and to have the support and dedication of the Royal Air Forces Association has only enhanced this important asset.”
When serving parents send their children to a RAFA Kidz nursery, they will also be supporting their RAF colleagues. Any additional income will be invested back into the nursery and into RAF welfare activities delivered by the RAF Association. Popular projects such as free station wi-fi, Storybook Wings and childminder training will all benefit.
