QinetiQ increasing its presence in Asia Pacific

QinetiQ announced today that it is increasing its business development focus in the Asia Pacific region.

At the start of the year, the company opened its first office in the region, in Kuala Lumpur and is attending this week its first tradeshow since the opening of the office: LIMA, 26-30 March. The business has also recently signed a contract in South Korea, its first contract in the region since the opening of the office.

Mike Collier, Business Development Director International at QinetiQ said: “QinetiQ’s increased focus in Asia Pacific further supports our stated ambition to generate 50% of our revenues from international customers within the next five years and a strong interest from our customers in the region in our capabilities, particularly our critical decision making and procurement consulting, threat representation, test and evaluation services. We also have a number of growing relationships with customers that have expressed an interest in our engineering support capabilities, particularly in the area of Aircraft Structural Integrity where we can help enable air platform longevity.

“We are delighted to open our new office. QinetiQ has worked in the Asia Pacific region for a number of years, delivering test and evaluation services and strategic consultancy but now see a real opportunity to further support our customers from a more local presence.”

In Australia, QinetiQ  have supported the Australian Defence Force in the delivery of Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI) services for more than 20 years and employ one of the largest concentrations of Aircraft Structural Integrity engineers in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Under a long-term, follow-on and performance-based contract with Australia’s Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), the company delivers a wide range of ASI expertise including structural integrity management, airframe life extension, design of repairs and modifications, stress and fatigue analysis, software development and non-destructive testing.
