ParalympicsGB will depart on flight BA2016

'victoRIOus', the gold-nose British Airways aircraft that brought Team GB home from Rio is getting ready for its next mission – bringing ParalympicsGB home from the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, arriving on Tuesday September 20. In preparation for its prestigious journey, the aircraft has been getting a makeover including a nose polish, full body clean and getting a new hashtag emblazoned on its livery - this time reading #BAckSupercharged

ParalympicsGB depart on flight BA2016 from Rio de Janeiro on Monday September 19 and arrive in to Heathrow Terminal 5 on Tuesday September 20 at 9am, to an invite-only media reception.

Fans can once again follow the aircraft’s movements on flight tracking website ‘Flightradar24’, which features a bespoke visual of the aircraft when hovering over the icon. It is also available to follow at: www.ba.com/backingGB.

On her 11 hour 15 minute journey from Rio de Janeiro, ‘victoRIOus’ will carry 585 items of kit and equipment, some of which include; archery tackle, racing chairs, tennis chairs, throwing frames, leg bags, prosthetic bags, running blades, fencing foils, paddle tubes, solo bikes and tandem bikes. The heaviest piece of kit is a hand bike weighing 32kg.
