ODU to introduce new military connectors at DSEI

Connector systems' supplier ODU will be showcasing some of its new military connector developments at next month's DSEI 2017. ODU's target for the future is to connect all interfaces around the soldier, such as weapons, communications systems and vehicle connections, so that both system engineers and soldiers can benefit from one connector family that meets all the requirements for every specific application.

In the UK, ODU is probably best known for its support of the Bowman programme, where it has supplied over 100,000 helmet connectors without a single reported in-service failure.

This, together with work on several global Future Soldier programmes, led to the successful introduction of its Advanced Military Connector [AMC] series of miniature push-pull connectors.

Nick Harper (right), Managing Director, ODU UK Ltd. said: "This will be our eighth year as an exhibitor at DSEI and we look forward to each one, as the show gets bigger and better, giving us more sales opportunities.

"Not only that but as a specialist niche supplier, we need to keep our ears to the ground and DSEI helps us to be made aware of the future needs of the military communications market.

"At the same time, of course, we get to introduce our new developments, designed to answer the constant demand for better, faster and more secure military communications."

ODU also offers a comprehensive assembly service - including connectors, cable, over-moulding, watertight-potting and metalwork – and can supply sub-systems from one totally reliable source (shipped to line), with consultation, requirement analysis, product design & development, prototype manufacture, pre-production batch delivery and technical documentation.

The ODU Group is a global supplier of connector systems, employing 1,650 people. In addition to its company headquarters in Mühldorf/Germany, ODU has production sites in Sibiu/Romania, Camarillo/USA, Shanghai/China and Tijuana/Mexico. The Group sells its products globally through its eight subsidiaries in Denmark, England, France, Italy, Sweden, USA, China and Japan.
