NSC to maintain support for UK Defence Academy
NSC will continue to support future commanders and staff officers from all three UK Armed Services to at least March 2018.

The simulation, training and consultancy specialist has been an ever-present asset at the UK Defence Academy’s Joint Services Command and Staff College since it opened its doors in 1998 and was responsible for introducing computer-based wargaming to the former Army Staff College seven years earlier.
Building on the long-standing relationship, the Surrey-based firm will continue to share its internationally-deployed exercise support services with military directing staff to help design and deliver theatre-level education serials for the Advanced Command and Staff Course.
NSC will also go on providing experienced analysts for the exercise phases of the Shrivenham-based college’s Higher, Advanced and Intermediate Staff Command courses to further enhance students’ understanding of the increasingly important role Operational Analysis (OA) plays in theatres.
This continuity of expertise coupled with NSC’s emphasis on switching between simulation, wargaming and OA to meet evolving training objectives, will enable the Defence Academy to maintain first-class decision-making exercises based on operations within complex land, air and maritime environments.
Wing Commander Nel Doherty, SO1 Exercises and Simulation at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, said officers attending Shrivenham valued NSC’s vast experience in the fields of technical simulation and OA support.
“NSC’s subject matter experts do this type of work day in, day out and bring an added level of continuity having helped to deliver exercises at the college for many years,” she continued.

NSC’s extended tenure at Shrivenham will mean the tri-Service college can continue to capitalise on the company’s close working relationships with a broad range of industry suppliers, which allows tools and capabilities to be used for best effect in the delivery of exercises and innovative approaches to be explored and employed.
This collaborative approach is demonstrated by the firm’s proven partnership with 4C Strategies, which provides the Joint Services Command and Staff College with a Training and Exercise Manager.
