Norwegian makes inaugural flight from Gatwick to Boston
Low-cost flights with Norwegian have already resulted in direct services from Gatwick to New York, Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Puerto Rico and now Boston with forthcoming flights to Oakland (San Francisco) starting in May.
As the low-cost long-haul revolution takes hold, Norwegian recently announced it intends to add 50 new long haul Dreamliners and 100 new short haul aircraft at Gatwick. The new fleet would enable Norwegian to transform the low-cost long-haul revolution it started at Gatwick delivering significantly cheaper long haul fares for passengers.
Gatwick’s new long haul routes will move Gatwick into the premier league of European airports serving more than 50 long-haul destinations. The milestone will be passed this year when airlines including British Airways, Norwegian, Cathay Pacific, West Jet and Air Canada fly the 20 new long haul routes to cities located on four continents. This includes a range of destinations across Canada and the USA, and also Hong Kong, Peru, Cuba, South Africa and Costa Rica.

The growth of low-cost long-haul travel with Norwegian from Gatwick has helped to make flights more affordable for hundreds of thousands of passengers and shows no sign of slowing as more airlines get set to launch a record number of long-haul routes from Gatwick over the coming year.”
