Based in Abu Dhabi, GANS provides air navigation services at 16 airports in the UAE, including Abu Dhabi International.

The two companies have worked closely together on a number of operational improvement projects in the Middle East since 2015, including with Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Etihad Airlines and operational participation in a series of eco flight trials between Abu Dhabi and the UK. This new agreement helps cement that partnership and signals the shared intent of both organisations to pursue future improvement opportunities in the region and beyond.

Working together, GANS and NATS have committed to supporting the recovery and future growth of air traffic across the region, supporting Air Traffic Management in improving efficiency and operational resilience through the deployment of efficient processes and innovative resourcing and technology solutions.

Guy Adams, NATS Strategy and Commercial Director, said: “GANS is a highly respected Air Navigation Service Provider and I see a lot of cross over in terms of our shared goals and complementary skills. We both have extensive experience managing air traffic at major airports and I’m excited at the prospect of what we can jointly offer customers across the region as the industry seeks to recover from the impact of Covid.”

Yahya Al Hammadi, GANS Chief Executive Officer, added: “We are delighted to have signed this agreement with NATS, a world leader in the provision of Air Traffic Services, given our joint potential to deliver innovative technological solutions. I believe that this agreement is testament to our shared commitment to continuously improve services and unlock benefits for customers. We see this partnership as a model for the future with increased industry collaboration which is a key ingredient for our industry to recover from the pandemic.”

The Framework Agreement was signed at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, held for the first time since 2019 due to the impact of the global pandemic.
