Nasmyth has announced the appointment of James Larner as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) James (above) will be responsible for the Group's financial and IT decision-making and support the Board with strategy formation and execution.
James was most recently CFO for DeterTech Group, an Intelligence-Led Security Solutions business and managed the process of Private Equity investment as well as strategic M&A and refinancing. Prior to that James was CFO of AIM listed Autins Group leading on the IPO process taking the Group from private to public ownership and securing growth investment.
Both roles were wide ranging with direct responsibility for the financial, legal, IT, HR and supply chain functions together with direct daily involvement in the sales and operational improvements and management.
James is a Chartered Accountant having trained at Ernst & Young Birmingham and has also held senior positions at Caparo Mill Products, Tata Steel Distribution and Eliza Tinsley Group PLC with experience in leading business turnarounds and improvement processes.
James is also active in his local community coaching U14’s Rugby as well as a Trustee of Birmingham Rathbone Society, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities/difficulties to live as independently as possible in their own homes and local community, and of Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust.
