The free event, which will run from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, 7 November, will give visitors the opportunity to find out more about a career in aviation by speaking directly to more than a dozen employers based at the airport site.
Over 1,000 roles will be on offer at the event, including around 250 with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), itself, which owns and operates Manchester Airport as well as East Midlands and London Stansted Airports.
Other employers who will be represented at the fair include:
- Airlines and aviation service providers, including Jet2.com, Dnata and Up & Away Aviation;
- Retail operators such as Pret a Manger, JD Sports and World Duty Free;
- Hotel groups including Doubletree Hilton and Holiday Inn/Ibis/Tribe Hotels;
- Construction firms working on the airport’s £1.3bn transformation programme, like MACE and NG Bailey.
The Airport Academy, which is run in partnership by Manchester Airport and Trafford College, will also be in attendance at the jobs fair promoting its free pre-employment support programmes. These include fully accredited training schemes for those who are on Jobseekers’ Allowance and require additional support before applying for the jobs.
Charity Smartworks will have a stand promoting its ‘Fashion as a Force for Good’ campaign, which makes suits and formal attire available to women from disadvantaged backgrounds ahead of job interviews.
Entry to the event must be booked in advance through Eventbrite, via this link.
We are proud to serve the North, and that doesn’t just mean getting people away on their holidays and business trips – we are also very aware of our responsibilities as a major regional employer. This jobs fair is about connecting local people with the right opportunities to build their career – whether that’s with us or one of our third-party partners.
“It’s an exciting time to be starting work at the airport, with our £1.3bn transformation programme nearing completion and more than 30 million passengers travelling through over the course of a year for the first time – so please do come along and find out more about the opportunities on offer.”
Chris Woodroofe – Managing Director, Manchester Airport
Those securing roles with MAG can also take advantage of a wide range of benefits. These include discounts on public transport when travelling to work, free on-site car parking whilst working and when going on holiday, an excellent pension scheme, training programmes, retail discounts plus many more.
