With a career in defence procurement spanning nearly three decades, Jonathan (above) has a wealth of supply chain experience, which began as a Senior Defence Project Buyer at EDS Group in 2001, before managerial tenures at Northrop Grumman and Fujitsu.
He joins MARSS after spending five years as Global Head of Supply Chain at Sperry Marine, where he led the development of the company’s supply chain team and integration of new enterprise resource planning systems.
“After starting out as an engineer, it’s hard to believe I’ve enjoyed almost 30 years in the world of defence procurement,” Jonathan commented.
“That began with the Trident missile programme with the UK MoD, before spending eight years at Fujitsu. The highlight from that time was successfully tendering for the $800 million MoD network connectivity programme, where I helped to generate $90 million in savings."
Looking ahead, Jonathan will play a key role in helping MARSS transition its business and strategies to future programmes and customers.
Rob Balloch, Chief Growth Officer at MARSS, added: “This is an exciting time for Jonathan to be joining MARSS with our significant growth over the last year as the prime contractor delivering complex integrated systems to customers around the world.
"With our downselection as the preferred bidder for several significant programmes in 2024 and with a record pipeline of opportunities, the MARSS board continues to invest in our senior management team with a focus on strengthening relationships with our strategic partners.
“Jonathan’s exemplary track record in both the defence and commercial space, along with his skills, experience and passion, are everything we look for at MARSS and we look forward to his contribution to our future.”
Jonathan added: “I’m delighted to be moving to MARSS – a truly innovative company that is already protecting the lives of millions across the globe. I can’t wait to make an impact on the company’s successes and our customers’ ability to protect what they value most.”
