Marshall wins Engineering Excellence Award 2016

magazine, which reports on the activities of high-tech engineering companies based in Cambridge and the East of England, has presented Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group with an Engineering Excellence Award.

David Newble of TTP Labtech, the award sponsor said: “Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, with Rolls-Royce and Lockheed Martin, recently won a £369 million MoD contract to support the RAF C-130 Hercules transport fleet until 2022, underpinning 1,000 jobs. Marshall also supports civil and military projects globally, supplying the most sophisticated field hospitals in NATO and supporting 12 Air Forces around the world.”

Glen Clark, Chief Operating Officer at Marshall Aerospace and Defence Groups commented: “I was delighted to accept this award on behalf of everyone in the business as, up against tough competition, it recognises our commitment to and excellence in engineering as well as reflecting the hard work of everyone in the business”.

The company is headquartered in Cambridge, where it employs more than 1,750 personnel on its 800 acre site, which includes 1.2 million square feet of hangar space plus the company-owned Cambridge Airport.

Its activities include the conversion, modification, maintenance and support of military and commercial aircraft, the design and manufacture of special mission vehicles and shelters for the armed forces and humanitarian aid organisations, and the provision of personnel and training into advanced engineering sectors.
