Loganair boosts UK connectivity with Aberdeen-Southampton service
Loganair today announced a further boost for UK regional connectivity with the launch of a one-stop, same-plane service between Aberdeen and Southampton from 23rd March.

An evening service will operate in each direction between the two cities, home to several maritime and petrochemical companies dependent on air links which have largely been severed following last week’s collapse of Flybe and the loss of the Manchester hub which was the main travel route.
Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer Kay Ryan (above) said: “Following last week’s announcement that Loganair will add 16 former Flybe routes to its network, today’s announcement is a further boost for connectivity at Aberdeen and Southampton airports. We’ve already introduced replacement flights from Aberdeen to Birmingham, Belfast and Manchester; and from Southampton to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle and the early response from customers has been very strong indeed despite the cautious approach that many are taking to travel right now.”
Loganair’s new service will offer a departure from Aberdeen at 16:35 arriving in Southampton at 19:15; and from Southampton at 16:25 arriving in Aberdeen at 19:05.
Flights will have a 30-minute stopover at Newcastle, during which customers can remain on board in the comfort of their seats.
The new service is on sale now via Loganair’s website at www.loganair.co.uk and via the GDS systems used by major travel agents.
All Loganair fares include a checked bag and in-flight refreshments as standard, and the airline’s free “Valet Bag” service provides a convenient option for bags which are a little too big to fit in the aircraft’s cabin.
From 29th April, Loganair will also be adding an extra three weekly services between Aberdeen and Newcastle at peak travel times on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons. The extra flight will leave Aberdeen at 15:00 and Newcastle at 17:00, complementing Loganair’s existing three-times daily jet schedule.
The move has been taken to ensure that Loganair provides seat capacity to meet expected demand to and from Newcastle, despite addition of the new Aberdeen-Southampton service.
