Loganair and Stobart Aviation Services have announced a new five-year agreement for the provision of passenger handling and ramp services for Loganair’s flights at Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports.

Stobart will establish new ground handling units at both airports to handle Loganair’s flights from March 2019, employing 70 staff in the early weeks of 2019.  Stobart will be investing in £1 million of state-of-the-art ground handling equipment for both stations to support the new contract, which will handle over 500 Loganair arrivals and departures each week at the two airports.

The new agreement will enhance services for Loganair’s customers at Edinburgh and Glasgow.  Stobart’s customer-facing staff will wear Loganair uniforms and new “Aviramp” ramps will be introduced at both airports to aid boarding and disembarkation, particularly for customers with reduced mobility and those with small children and infants.  The move continues Loganair’s programme of customer service developments which were recognised as part of its European Regional Airline of the Year award, announced in October.

“We are delighted that Loganair has chosen Stobart Aviation Services to serve its valued customers at Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports,” said Graeme Undy, Managing Director of Stobart Aviation Services.  “We entered the ground handling market at Stansted in 2018 and are proud of how we’ve been able to demonstrate Stobart standards and use real-time technology and innovation to deliver quality services to our clients.    Our expansion into Scotland in this new arrangement with Loganair will bring these standards to more and more customers in 2019.”

Loganair’s Chief Operations Officer Maurice Boyle said: “Scotland’s Airline has exciting growth plans at Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports for 2019, with new routes already announced and hopefully more to come.    Our new partnership with Stobart Aviation Services will support this growth and ensure that every customer travelling through Glasgow and Edinburgh on over 500 Loganair flights each week receives the highest standards of service.”
