Greater protection of individuals, integrity, principles of fairness, transparency and accountability, plus the protection of information and privacy, are some of the guidelines in Leonardo's new Supplier Code of Conduct, reaffirming values that characterise the Group's operations, which must be met by over 10,000 suppliers worldwide.

With the publication of the new Supplier Code of Conduct – Our future together, Leonardo emphasises the importance of ethical principles in conducting business, promoting them not only internally but also, more decisively, towards its external partners. Sharing these same values and behavioural standards is an essential prerequisite for business activities, based on social and environmental responsibility criteria, throughout the entire value chain.
This Code of Conduct reaffirms the value of respect for human rights, diversity and inclusion, direct workers and those of suppliers, as well as the right to privacy and the protection of personal data. It also highlights the importance of integrity and corporate ethics, as well as environmental sustainability and decarbonisation, as necessary principles for ensuring lasting progress for the benefit of people and the Planet.
Indications to suppliers to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations' 2030 Agenda are also strengthened. In particular, SDG 8 (promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all), SDG 9 (build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation), SDG 12 (ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns) and SDG 13 (take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts).
On the sustainability front, Leonardo has achieved significant milestones in recent years, with over 1,000 key suppliers measured on sustainability areas and engaged in improvement actions, over 500 suppliers involved in SDG training programmes and all partners of the LEAP (Leonardo Empowering Advanced Partnerships) programme committed to meeting shared objectives and plans with Leonardo regarding green energy, CO2 emissions reduction, waste recycling, and water consumption.
The new Code of Conduct consolidates the role of sustainability, understood as the ability to have a long-term vision, considering the impacts of its activities on the entire value chain, in the belief that the success of the enterprise is also realised through the commitment to building and maintaining a responsible and sustainable supply chain.
