The scholarships provide successful candidates up to £10,000 towards the cost of integrated ATPL training at L3Harris Airline Academy. Applications for the AIR Scholarship are open until September 30 and candidates will be announced in early November.

Cadets that start the 18-month training course now will graduate at a time when the International Air Transport Association (IATA) forecasts the demand for commercial airline pilots to be near 2019 levels.

“We are confident the aviation industry is beginning its journey back to recovery, with more flights and holidays being booked as the borders begin to open up.”, said Alan Crawford, President of Commercial Aviation, L3Harris. “We’re delighted to launch the L3Harris Aviation Industry Recovery Scholarship, which both supports our commitment to the long-term recovery of the industry and makes pilot careers more accessible to aspiring pilots.”

The scholarship is part of the L3Harris Pilot Pathways program which is a broader commitment to improving the accessibility of training to aspiring pilots from all backgrounds.

The L3Harris AIR Scholarship is open to aspiring candidates that meet the entry criteria to train towards an integrated ATPL in the UK and Europe. Scholarships of up to £10,000 will be awarded to candidates based on their performance throughout the selection process and on a 500 word essay highlighting their passion for aviation and why they are deserving of the scholarship. Successful candidates will be notified before they commence training and the monies will be awarded at the end of the flying phase. Candidates can apply immediately at www.l3harris.com/AIRscholarship.
