Hampshire firm iRed wins global green award
A Hampshire thermal imaging and drone technology company has scooped a top prize at the Global Green Business Awards.

Headquartered in Emsworth, near Portsmouth, iRed was named ‘Most Pioneering Sustainability Consultancy’ by the expert panel of judges.
In part the international award was given because the company saved client Anglian Water @one Alliance £2.2 million.
The water firm’s recycling centre in Grantham, Lincs, required expansion to serve a growing population.
The iRed team was called in to use its drone technology and various sensors to collect information and data on the site.
Its experts were able to advise the client that a complete rebuild was unnecessary and instead the site could re-profiled instead.
As well as a projected saving of £2.2 million it led to a 90% reduction in C02 emissions.
The project also won the Construction News Award for Sustainable Project of the Year, along with the Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice. The awards are run by Acquisition International.

Founded in 2002 by Ray Faulkner who has pioneered the advances in thermography, iRed's technology was traditionally used to examine buildings for failing insulation and in the electrical sector to check wiring. Now there are a plethora of applications with iRed acting as a consultancy and specialist training centre. Furthermore, iRed has been a pioneering company in the adaption of drone technology which it combined with its existing technologies.
