The Business Innovation Awards recognise the most innovative British companies doing business in Florida, Floridian companies that are making a positive contribution to the UK economy and the leading individuals and organisations that have helped further the bilateral economic partnership.

Fiona Walters, G4S's Chief Corporate Development Officer for North America, accepted the award on behalf of G4S on February 12th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami. She said: "We are delighted to have been selected by UKTI for this prestigious award. While G4S has a more than 100-year legacy, it is vital to continue to innovate and redesign our services, whether that is software and hardware that helps retailers better manage and forecast their cash; software to allow clients to record and manage incidents to better manage and predict risk; or the use of technology to enable our security officers to better protect our customers' property, people and assets,” Walters said. “We accept the award on behalf of G4S’ 60,000 North American employees, and the 611,000 employees globally, who contribute every day to keeping our societies safer.”

David Prodger, Her Majesty’s Consul General, outlined G4S's commitment to the United States, the special relationship with Florida and the innovation that G4S has brought to the security market by combining technology and labor solutions to build better security outcomes. “G4S, with its 7,500 Florida employees, and North American headquarters in Palm Beach County, is one of the largest UK investors in Florida and a constant innovator of security services, ensuring the highest level of security and safety of their customers and their assets,” Prodger said.

The Awards ceremony hosted by UKTI, in partnership with the British Consulate-General Miami and Britweek Miami, form part of a weeklong series of business and cultural events designed to celebrate and build the thriving relationship between the UK and Florida. The Innovation in Business Services award tract was sponsored by global accountancy firm RSM.
