The new route to Verona will operate on Saturdays. This romantic city is located in northern Italy and is particularly famous as the setting for Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, also being a ‘must see’ destination for lovers of architecture and opera.

Other highlights of Flybe’s summer schedule include increased frequencies on Milan and Faro which will both operate four times per week.

The launch of Verona brings the total number of Flybe routes operating at Cardiff to 14, including two winter services to Chambery and Geneva. The 2015-16 Winter ski routes will continue through to 16th April 2016 to accommodate those travelling over the Easter holiday period.

Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented: “We’re excited to confirm our new schedule from Cardiff Airport. We are confident we have created a schedule that delivers travel options that are both appealing and affordable for Summer 2016.”

Debra Barber, Managing Director at Cardiff Airport added: “We are delighted Flybe has chosen to add a fourteenth route to Verona to its Cardiff base. It is also testament to the popularity of flights to Faro and Milan that Flybe has increased frequencies to these destinations to meet demand.”

“We know customers want more choice and this announcement provides more flight options for travellers to and from Wales plus offers great value for money.”

Other Flybe routes operated to/from Cardiff during summer 16 include; Belfast, Cork, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Munich and Paris.
