FIA 2016: Cranfield University signs MoU with Universida Aeronáutica en Querétaro
Cranfield University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today with Mexico's Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro (UNAQ) at the Farnborough Air Show. This is the first agreement to be created between the two organisations and will open the way for future activities around developing and delivering education and training; research, business and joint staff development.
Professor Philip John (right), Cranfield University Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Mr Jorge Gutiérrez de Velasco Rodríguez, UNAQ’s President, signed the agreement in the Mexican Pavilion at the Farnborough Air Show, witnessed by the Governor of Querétaro state, Francisco Domínguez Servién. Professor John commented: “Cranfield University is a global university, with strong relationships with industrial and academic organisations around the world.
We are delighted to forge this new relationship with Mexico’s Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro. The exciting developments in aerospace in and around UNAQ resonate strongly with Cranfield’s international position in aerospace and we look forward to developing the relationship.” Mr Gutiérrez de Velasco said: For UNAQ this agreement is an opportunity to develop relevant competencies within the university due to the vision of establishing relationships with globally recognised institutions like Cranfield.
This agreement reinforces the credibility UNAQ has achieved by fulfilling aerospace industry needs and will send a message to the world that Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro is moving into added value manufacturing and design through high quality education in Mexico for aerospace industry.
La Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro (UNAQ) is a specialist aerospace university supported by the Government of the State of Queretaro and the Federal Government of Mexico, focused on training professionals and researchers for the aeronautical sector and, in particular, supporting the growing aerospace industrial capability in the state.
