NATS has awarded EMCOR UK a three year contract extension to continue performing comprehensive facilities management services in key locations, including NAT'S' Main Air Traffic Control Centres in Swanwick (Hampshire) and Prestwick, as well as the Corporate Technical Centre in Fareham, Hampshire.

EMCOR UK will also continue to support NATS in its technology transformation programme. The contract extension follows a full market review by NATS and commences in October, 2017 and includes the option to extend two years.

EMCOR UK’s scope of work includes performing mechanical and electrical maintenance, front of house services, cleaning, catering, logistics, manned guarding, internal moves and changes, building fabric, and pest control. EMCOR UK will also continue to support NATS’ mission to completely overhaul its technology infrastructure and how it manages air traffic in the UK. The first technical aspect of this change, the installation of a temporary operations and equipment room at the Swanwick control centre in Hampshire, was completed in 2016. EMCOR UK is now embarking on a number of related projects which will lead to the creation of a new single combined operations room at its Swanwick Air Traffic Control Centre.

Tim Bullock, ‎Director, Supply Chain, NATS, said: “We are very pleased to award EMCOR UK a facilities management contract extension. We have an excellent working relationship with the EMCOR UK team, which plays a considerable part in helping to ensure NATS stays ahead of the technology curve; we look forward to working together for many years to come.”

Christopher Kehoe, Group Executive Director, EMCOR UK, commented: "EMCOR UK is very proud to have again been selected by NATS to provide comprehensive facilities management services and technology infrastructure support for a further three years upon completion of our current contract in October 2017. This will see EMCOR UK’s comprehensive facilities management relationship with NATS extending to over 15 years. Our reputation is built on working collaboratively with customers to support their changing needs; this was recognised earlier this month when it was announced that EMCOR UK became one of only six companies in the world to be certificated to ISO 44001 (which supersedes BS 11000), the international standard for Collaborative Business Relationships. By using the principles set out in ISO 44001, EMCOR UK deploys state of the art techniques, including using an innovative management information system with an eye on cost efficiency.”
