EasyJet has launched its first ever flight from Bristol to Stockholm, marking the start of two flights a week, all year round.

The airline now flies to 65 destinations with 13 aircraft from Bristol, its biggest UK base outside of London. The airline will operate two flights per week, year-round from Bristol to Stockholm.

Sweden’s capital is built on 14 islands in Lake Mälaren surrounding its medieval centre, and offers lots for tourists to see and do. The new route also provides for Bristol’s business travellers, with Stockholm being one of Europe’s fastest growing and best connected cities.

EasyJet has flown more than 49.8 million passengers to and from Bristol since opening the base over 15 years ago. The airline continues to grow and expand in Bristol, while offering low-fares and friendly customer service.

Ali Gayward, UK Country Manager, said: “We are pleased to be expanding our network at Bristol airport with the launch of this new route to Stockholm.

“Sweden’s beautiful and historic capital is also world leading in business, making it the perfect destination for both leisure and business travellers.

“EasyJet is excited to continue to grow and expand in Bristol, continuing to make travel easy and affordable.”

Shaun Browne, Head of Airline Relations, Bristol Airport said: “We are delighted with easyJet’s new service to Stockholm which provides year round connectivity to Sweden’s capital city.

“The new service provides additional connectivity to Scandinavia and we are very confident  that it will replicate the success of easyJet ‘s service to Copenhagen which has improved both business and leisure traffic between the South West and Wales with Scandinavia.”
