Rt Hon Sir John Whittingdale visit to CVC Components

Essex based CVC components is expanding again after multiple successes at the DSEi show in Japan earlier this year including securing large orders from Japan and Taiwan. Director Imran Khan explained "we hold over 100 million obsolete and legacy parts at our Essex headquarters to meet the more specialist hard to find requirements of International air, sea and land forces, additionally we have back engineering capabilities and manufacturing along with our dynamic sourcing and sales team who strive to offer the 'one stop shop' solution for customers".

CVC (Chelmer Valve Company) started in 1961 specialising in audio/transmitter glass valves, as technology advanced and demand for valves fell, CVC found themselves in a niche but low volume market so to increase sales, offered customers associated special products.
This in turn resulted in not only building new supplier relationships but ultimately led to the acqusition of supplying companies including; British Sarozal ltd who are ISO9000 and a registered manufacturer/supplier of over 15,000 Nato parts, FEL Avionics ltd who are the World's largest stockist of BAE/Plessey radar parts and Defence Support International ltd who are a JOSCAR approved supplier primarily of BAE systems surface ships support of legacy equipment.
Increased Global sales over the last 12 months has seen not only the need to expand their storage facility, but also recruit for their sales and technical departments. They have recently joined the Armed Forces Covenant and recruited Shaun Morgan who served with the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers, Mr Khan explained "former soldiers like Shaun are an asset to any military supply company, especially his hands on knowledge of legacy equipment which was still in use when he was in the Army".

On a recent visit Rt Hon Sir John Whittingdale stated "its fantastic to see such a dynamic expanding technology company rapidly heading towards being a Global leader in their field". CVC have applied for planning permission to build another warehouse at their secure site near Maldon in Essex and recruited 4 new sales/admin staff and a new technical engineer so far.
