CTC Aviation was acquired by L-3 Communications in May 2015. Since then, CTC Aviation and its sister companies, CTC Private Jet and civil simulator manufacturers, L-3 Link UK – operating under the banner entity of L-3 Commercial Training Solutions – have further reinforced their reputation as highly customer focussed and quality driven service providers in the world of aviation training, resourcing and simulation.

As the business moves into its next phase of international growth and diversity, CTC Aviation has appointed former Head of Short Haul for British Airways – Robin Glover-Faure – to the position of Vice President, Airline Training.

Robin will be responsible for working closely with both CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK’s airline and industry partners to create customer-focused, next-generation pilot training solutions. As part of this move, L-3 Link UK’s Bangkok-based Asian Aviation Training Centre (AATC) and the recently announced Virgin Atlantic B787 RealitySeven™ simulator solution installed by L-3 Link UK, will both be consolidated under the CTC Aviation brand umbrella and sit within Robin’s remit.

Robin brings further significant industry experience to CTC Aviation’s established, highly capable senior executive team: Following a 20-year career in British Airways, he most recently held responsibility for the profitability of their short-haul business. He has over thirty years of aviation experience in operational and commercial leadership roles having started his career in the Royal Air Force. He completed his Air Transport Pilots Licence in 1993 and, during his career at BA, he has enjoyed a diverse range of senior roles including pilot resourcing & training, airport operations, customer product & proposition, industrial negotiations, business planning and the safety management of large Air Transport operations at ‘post holder’ level. 1

Robin is keen to begin building upon the established strengths of both CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK: “I’m delighted to be joining the team at this exciting time. More than ever before our airline customers want creative, high quality but cost-effective solutions to their operational challenges. But I believe it’s not just about delivering solutions. It’s about delivering next generation solutions with world-class customer service and I’m absolutely committed to ensuring that into the future.”

Mike Redrupp, who has successfully headed up CTC Aviation’s airline training activity since 2003, moves into the divisional support team of L-3 Commercial Training Solutions to hold a more focused customer relationship management role; building upon existing, long-standing airline partnerships and working to forge new relationships with business customers around the globe. Mike will also take responsibility for overseeing safety and regulatory matters, liaising with regulatory bodies globally to ensure compliance across the division.

Rob Clarke, CTC Aviation’s President believes Robin’s appointment marks yet another exciting chapter in the company’s heritage: “We have worked closely with Robin on a number of projects over the years and know from experience that he is absolutely ‘spot-on’ for our business – a great fit. His industry credibility is widely recognised and, aside from his obvious commercial attributes, we are very excited about the genuine customer-centred approach which Robin has clearly focused upon throughout his career to date. He will make what is already a very strong team, even stronger.”
