Cobham welcomes UK Secretary of State for Defence
UK Secretary of State for Defence, Gavin Williamson, recently visited hte Wimborne site of Cobham plc, where he viewed several key projects, whilst meeting some of the Wimborne-based Cobham apprentices and graduate trainees.

Chief Executive, David Lockwood, welcomed the Secretary of State for Defence, Gavin Williamson and Michael Tomlinson, Member of Parliament for Mid Dorset and North Poole to Cobham's Wimborne facility, which employsaround 1,000 people on the site.
Wimborne has a rich history of supporting the UK’s Ministry of Defence and the visitors were shown a number of key projects for the Royal Air Force and global export customers, including our world leading aerial refuelling technologies.
The Secretary of State also had an opportunity to meet a number of Wimborne-based Cobham apprentices and graduate trainees, with a lively discussion on defence industry matters and the importance of STEM (science, technology engineering and maths) at schools and colleges.
